New Mexico United News Release
New Mexico United is pleased to announce that North Texas SC of MLS Next Pro has exercised the permanent transfer option on midfielder Carl Sainté. Sainté was loaned to North Texas - who is affiliated with MLS club FC Dallas - during the 2022 season. The terms of that loan included a now-exercised option to make the transfer permanent. The terms of this transfer includes future considerations/sell-on fees.
"This is an incredible outcome for Carl, and for New Mexico United," said United Owner/President Peter Trevisani. "Carl was terrific in Black & Yellow, and this is a great opportunity for him to continue to grow in the game. While our club is focused on winning a cup and making New Mexico proud, we also relish the opportunity to develop the next generation of stars in world soccer. Players like Carl and Cristian Nava represent that incredible potential. Alongside USL-C alumni like Kobi Henry and Diego Luna, they create validation points for United and the USL Championship - cementing their place as key players in the global football landscape."
Before his midseason loan, Sainté played in six matches in all competitions for United, scoring in the 47th minute of a 5-0 victory over Las Vegas Legends in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Second Round. United thanks Carl for his hard work, and wishes him the best of luck in his career.
