
New Mexico United Announces Academy Tryout

Albuquerque, NM - New Mexico United and the Somos Unidos Foundation are excited to announce that registration for tryouts for the United Academy are now open. The tryout will be held on April 18th at Kraemer Fields in Albuquerque. The team is looking for 5-7 players, ('06 - '09) to fill out their 2023 roster. Registration is $40 + tax and fees (total $47), but will be refunded to any player who makes the team. Registration can be found at this link: https://newmexicoutd.cinchhq.com/programs/5501.
The New Mexico United Academy is entering its third year of existence. The team is one of just four in the entire nation to qualify for the USL Academy Playoffs in every year of the tournament's existence, and represents the most elite option for young players in the region. United's Academy is also completely free for every player, scholarshipped through the Somos Unidos Foundation. Players travel across the nation, and even internationally, representing New Mexico. So far, players have also signed Academy contracts - allowing them to play in matches with the New Mexico United first team - five times in just two years.
