The New Mexico Ice Wolves, Logo Designer JLB Designs and K1 Sportswear Have Teamed up to Create Day of the Dead Uniforms to be Worn by Players and Made Available to Fans by Dash Auctions

(Albuquerque, NM) Friday - The New Mexico Ice Wolves® today announced the debut of their special Día de los Muertos uniforms for their October 29-30 home series against the Wichita Falls Warriors (TX). Jim Bergquist, the creator of the team's award winning logo, also created the special logo that is the center of these special jerseys. The New Mexico Ice Wolves engaged K1 Sportswear, the official uniform partner of the NAHL to create unique jerseys which the players will wear and fans and collectors will have the ability to purchase via auction.

These special jerseys are a nod to the Mexican culture that Día de los Muertos represents and embodies one of the New Mexican traditions that make this state special. The special jerseys feature a take on the NM Ice Wolves award-winning logo, much turquoise blue represents both the state stone and the 300+ days of annual sunshine in New Mexico. The red and yellow are the state colors of New Mexico and the only colors used in the state flag. The entire uniform ties together to represent the celebration of life that Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, embraces every 1st and 2nd day of November.

The NM Ice Wolves game worn Día de los Muertos jerseys will be available for fans and collectors from Dash Auctions beginning on Friday, October 22, 2021 and ending on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Fans and collectors visit the Dash website browser or can download the app on either Google Play or Apple App Store to make bids on players' game worn uniforms. One other way to win a Día de los Muertos is for fans to buy raffle tickets to support the New Mexico Bladerunners Sled Hockey Club that also plays at Outpost Ice Arenas. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $20 each, or 6 for $100. These raffle tickets will be sold from October 22nd at all NM Ice Wolves home games through November 13th.

The New Mexico Ice Wolves are committed to building and bringing awareness to hockey and all ice sports in New Mexico. Playing in the league of opportunity (North American Hockey League) the players are humbled and excited to be wearing these special uniforms that represent the culture and community that the NM Ice Wolves players live and play in.

The NM Ice Wolves look to continue their early season success as they host NAHL South Division leading Odessa Jackalopes on Friday and Saturday, October 22 and 23, 2021. The Jackalopes are in first place in the South Division and are a heated rival of the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Some tickets remain for the weekend series. There are limited opportunities still available for full-season or partial-season tickets at the team's ticket website or by contacting the team at tickets@nmicewolves.com. Season ticket holders receive a guaranteed reserved seat for all 28 NM Ice Wolves home games in the regular season, priority access to playoff tickets and priority renewal. Season tickets start at $280 for reserved front row bleacher seats, $350 for all other reserved bleacher seats and $700 for reserved stadium chairback seats and will be pro-rated for remaining games. Season tickets can be contracted for using a payment plan that is available when finalizing at the website. For accessible and companion seating please contact tickets@nmicewolves.com.

The NM Ice Wolves are 6-2 so far this season and are currently in 4th place in the South Division, but with a few games in hand have the highest winning percentage. All NM Ice Wolves games for the 2021-2022 season will be available to watch on HockeyTV with a monthly or annual subscription.

The NM Ice Wolves wrapped their 2020-2021 season in mid-May at home after playing most of its games, both home and away, on the road in Texas and Louisiana due to strict public health guidelines in New Mexico that prohibited competition and travel for much of the year. The 2020-2021 season also marked two historic firsts for the organization with forward Cole Hanson becoming the first ever NM Ice Wolves player to be named to the All-NAHL 1st Team and the league's All-South Division Team. Nikolai Dulak was honored to be named to the NAHL South Division All-Rookie team and All-NAHL Rookie Second team. Spencer Rudrud, Jack Bayless, Brandon Holt and Owen Parker were all named to and participated in the NAHL Top Prospects tournament in June as part of the league's Robertson Cup championship week in Blaine, MN. Dulak, Holt and Parker are back with the NM Ice Wolves this season.

After the team and league ended the 2019-2020 season early, as all major sports leagues did due to COVID-19, with no playoffs the NM Ice Wolves were honored by the entire North American Hockey League as the NAHL Organization of the Year and the NAHL's South Division Organization of the Year. Alex Dominique became the first ever NM Ice Wolves' player named to the NAHL All-South Division Rookie Team and the team's jersey was voted best in the league in a virtual playoff voted on by fans league wide in the first ever NAHL Tournament of Jerseys.
