
New Jersey takes first two in Worcester

Little Falls, NJ â New Jersey and Worcester slugged it out, but the Jackals prevailed 7-5 with some late innings offense.
Both teams exchanged two run homeruns in the first. Sandy Madera went yard for the Jackals, while Yohanny Valera did the same in the bottom of the first, making it a 2-2 game.
Long balls hurts the Jackals and Aaron Myers in the third. A pair of bombs, the first by Omar Pena and Valera's second homer of the game, both solo shots, put the Tornadoes ahead 4-2.
New Jersey and Worcester once again exchanged runs in the fifth. Joe Jiannetti went yard for the Jackals, and Valera drove in his fourth RBI of the game on a single for the Tornadoes.
There would be yet another long ball in the sixth. Madera hit his second bomb of the game, bringing New Jersey a run closer. The Jackals continued the onslaught in the seventh and eighth. Tyler Brock hit one out o Fitton Field, followed by an RBI single by Madera, putting the Jackals up 6-5. Jiannetti singled home his second RBI of the game, making it 7-5 in favor of the Jackals, and it would stay that way.
Aaron Myers was the winner in eight innings, Steve Palazolla suffered the loss in relief for Worcester. Isaac Pavlik pitched a perfect ninth for the second consecutive night, for the save.
