New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, NJ - January 12, 2011 - It is finally here! Amid weeks of anticipation, the Can-Am League has officially released its 2011 schedule.

The league will operate with eight teams -- the Quebec Les Capitales, Worcester Tornadoes, Brockton Rox, Pittsfield Colonials, Rockland Boulders, New York Federals, Newark Bears and your New Jersey Jackals. The league saw many changes over the off-season with the addition of three new teams. The expansion Rockland Boulders join the Can-Am League for their first season of professional baseball in nearby Rockland County, New York. The rival Newark Bears switched over from the Atlantic League to finally answer the age long question, "Who would win' The Bears or the Jackals." And to round out the league is a traveling team, the New York Federals, built of players from the New York State Baseball League.

The Jackals will play a 94-game schedule, with 54 incredible home games at Yogi Berra Stadium. The squad is slated to open the 2011 season on the road at Pittsfield for a three-game set beginning on May 26th. The first home game will be played on Tuesday, May 31st, as the Jackals welcome the Bears for the very first time to kickoff an AMAZING June of baseball, with 21 home games!
