FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will train three days this week in preparation for Saturday's game against the Houston Dynamo at Robertson Stadium in Houston in the teams' first rematch since MLS Cup 2006.

NEW ENGLAND VS. HOUSTON SERIES INFORMATION

- New England and Houston have met just twice in the overall MLS regular-season series, playing to a pair of 1-1 draws ... the teams are 0-0-2 against each other after Houston's first year of play.

- New England is 0-0-1 in games played in Houston, and 0-0-1 against the Dynamo at home

- The teams met in last year's MLS Cup, where the Dynamo won the title behind a 4-3 victory in penalty kicks after the teams played a 1-1 draw after extra time

REVOLUTION PLAYER NOTES VS. HOUSTON

- Steve Ralston has scored the only Revs goal against Houston, a strike last year on May 27 at Gillette Stadium ... the Revs benefited from an own goal in the game played in Houston

- Pat Noonan and Andy Dorman assisted on Ralston's goal at Gillette Stadium ... Dorman's cross into the penalty area created the own goal in Houston on July 22

- Pat Noonan leads New England in career fouls suffered (6)

- Matt Reis is 0-0-2 against Houston with a 1.00 goals against average ... he made nine saves last year against the Dynamo, including six in the 1-1 draw in Houston on July 22.

LAST REGULAR-SEASON MEETING : July 22, 2006

New England 1, Houston 1

New England and Houston played to a 1-1 draw at Robertson Stadium on July 22, 2006 ... after a scoreless first half, the Revs went ahead 1-0 in the 60th minute on a Dynamo own goal ... however, Stuart Holden equalized for Houston three minutes later and the teams finished the game tied ... Matt Reis made six saves for New England, while the Revs failed to put a shot on goal in the game.

NEWS & NOTES

Top of the East

For the first time since the 2005 season, the New England Revolution is atop the MLS Eastern Conference standings ... with a league-best 14 points (4-1-2), the Revs now own the league's best record and are two points ahead of second-place Kansas City in the East.

First in Every Way

In addition to the Revs being the top team in MLS this season, New England also boasts the top two offensive players, as well ... Taylor Twellman has scored a league-leading six goals this season, and was named MLS Player of the Week on Monday for his two-goal effort at Los Angeles on Saturday, a performance that also included the game-wining goal in the 85th minute ... additionally, Steve Ralston leads the league in assists with six in seven games, already surpassing his 2006 season total of five.

Ralston's Rolling

Steve Ralston is tops in the league in assists in 2007, and is on the verge of becoming MLS' all-time leader in the category ... Ralston has recorded six assists so far this season, and now has 113 on his career ... he is currently in second place on the MLS career assists list, just one assist shy of former Tampa Bay Mutiny teammate Carlos Valderrama (114) and two from the outright lead in the category.

Undefeated In the Last Six

The Revolution is undefeated in the team's last six games now, going 4-0-2 since a season-opening loss at Chicago ... the Revs have gone 2-0-2 on the road and 2-0-0 at home in that span ... the Revs have also out-scored their opponents 15-6 during the current undefeated streak.

Comfortable on the Road

Opening the season playing six of its first eight games away from home, the Revs will play their final road match until June 30 when they travel to Houston this weekend ... so far, New England is 2-1-2 away from home this season ... the Revolution has already traveled approximately 14,200 miles just six weeks into the season with another 3,700 on tap this weekend.

Twellman Is Tops Again

Forward Taylor Twellman, who has scored more goals than anyone in MLS since 2002 when he came into the league, is again leading the league in goals scored ... Twellman's six goals in seven games is tops in MLS after the first five weeks of the season ... he has 81 career goals and is in seventh place on the MLS career goals list, one goal behind sixth-place Raul Diaz Arce's (retired) 82 goals.

Rocking Rookies

A pair of Revolution rookies - Adam Cristman and Wells Thompson - have already made an impact on the Revs' scoresheet ... Cristman just scored his first career MLS goal on Saturday at Los Angeles, is second on the team in assists with three and is also tied for third in MLS in the category ... Thompson recorded his first-career MLS goal in the Revs' 3-1 victory over Chicago on May 6.
