Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - CF Montréal announced on Saturday a contract extension for forward Mason Toye for the next three seasons. The deal also includes an option year in 2025.
Toye, who suffered an injury to his right shoulder at the end of the game against the New York Red Bulls last Saturday at Stade Saputo, will undergo surgery next Tuesday.
"Despite this injury and the surgery that will keep him away for several months, the Club is showing its confidence in him with this contract extension," said CF Montréal sporting director Olivier Renard. "We wish him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the pitch."
Toye, 22, leads the team with seven goals in 10 games, including eight as starter, and 893 minutes of play.
He was selected seventh overall by Minnesota United in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft as a Generation Adidas player.
At the international level, Toye played for the U19, U20 and U23 US National teams. He scored a goal with the U23 squad against Japan on September 9, 2019.
Transaction: Contract extension for forward Mason Toye for the next three seasons. The deal also includes an option year in 2025.
