Nelson Dominates Against Aviators In 5-1 Aces' Win

Reno, Nev. - Behind a commanding start from Ryne Nelson, the Reno Aces (69-55) earned a 5-1 victory against the Las Vegas Aviators (61-63) Tuesday night in front of 3,197 attendees at Greater Nevada Field.

With the win, the Aces hold a 14-5 record against the Aviators in the Silver State Diamond Challenge, presented by Nevada Donor Network.

In his sixth start against Las Vegas, Nelson (W, 10-5) allowed one unearned run on five hits, one walk and five strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn his league-leading tenth win.

Trailing 1-0 in the fifth, the Aces grabbed a 2-1 lead with a two-run double from Dominic Canzone.

Reno's bats continued to pad the lead in the sixth with a three-run inning highlighted by an RBI double from Seth Beer to cement the 5-1 victory.

Reno will continue their six-game homestand against Las Vegas through Sunday, September 4. After the homestand, the Aces will travel to Utah to take on the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, starting Tuesday, September 6.
