
NBC World Series Announces 2013 Promotional Schedule

WICHITA, KS - The National Baseball Congress World Series has announced its promotional schedule for the 79th edition of the tournament, which begins Friday, July 26th at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

The World Series begins Friday, July 26th with the first of two player parties. Passes to the event are just $5 with women 21 years of age or older receiving free admission. A second players party will be held on Friday, August 2nd.
A fireworks spectacular takes place on Saturday, July 27th. The 27th is also the tournament's first annual Alumni Night. Several World Series alumni will be on hand prior to the feature game.
The tournament has once again formed several partnerships to provide fans with complimentary general admission vouchers for five "Buy Out" dates. These nights include July 28th (Wichita Suites), July 30th (Budweiser/House of Schwan), July 31st (Go Wichita), August 6th (Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission), and August 7th (Mattress Hub).
Fans can also stop by any Kwik Shop in the Wichita area for a $1 general admission voucher good for Monday, July 29th and Monday, August 5th.
Baseball 'Round the Clock, the hallmark event of the World Series, takes place August 2nd through the 4th. The most ardent of baseball fans will attempt to watch 17 games over the course of 56 hours.
Tuesday, August 6th is the first annual "Stars of Tomorrow Clinic", powered by Launch Laser. The clinic takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The second annual Legends night is Thursday, August 8th. The evening will honor players and teams from Wichita's World Series championship years. Members of the 1942 and 1955 Boeing Bombers, the 1962, 1963, and 1965 Dreamliners, and the 1964 Glassmen will be on hand.
The tournament concludes Saturday, August 10th with Championship Night and another postgame fireworks show. Prior to the game, a cook off takes place in the Lawrence-Dumont Stadium parking lot, presented by All Things BBQ. The cook off features a beer garden and fans will cast their votes for the best pulled pork BBQ. Tickets cost $10 and include a free General Admission ticket for Championship Night.
Beginning this season, all little league players who wear their uniform to Lawrence-Dumont Stadium receive free admission with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket.
Youth fans under the age of 12 can run the bases following every feature game with the exception of the two fireworks nights.
