NAVYYForMoms.com Joins the Oklahoma City Redhawks in Honoring American Heroes
WHEN: June 20, 2009; 7:05 p.m.
WHAT: NAVYForMoms.com will join members of the United States Navy and Oklahoma City Redhawks fans on June 20 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City to celebrate Navy Night at the Ballpark. Discounts will be available for military: $2 off with military id. Anticipated Navy activities on June 20 include:
A swearing-in ceremony for Navy Delayed Entry Program (DEP) members.
Commander Michael Mullins from Navy Recruiting District Dallas throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
A Boeing E-6B Mercury flyover, provided by U.S. Navy Strategic Communications Wing One
A flag presentation, provided by the Navy Ceremonial Guard
In addition, the Navy Suburban, a traveling exhibit complete with video games and the Blue Angels F/A-18 Flight Simulator will be accessible outside of the ballpark for fans to tour. Themed giveaways and a 7th Inning Stretch led by Sailors and Navy moms, including Navy Musician and Aviation Machinist's Mate Second Class Melanie Meadows leading all in attendance in the singing of "God Bless America" complete this special evening. A NAVYForMoms.com member will be available to speak with media. The Navy night at the Ballpark is part of an effort to increase awareness of the U. S. Navy within communities across the nation. This Navy Week, NAVYForMoms.com is proud to honor all the Navy men and women currently serving, and joins the Oklahoma City Redhawks in thanking them for their service. Launched in 2008, NAVYForMoms.com now has over 19,000 members. The Web site is an online community designed to deliver accurate and unfiltered information about the U.S, Navy to Navy moms and non-Navy moms alike.
