Navigators come back twice but finally fall to BaySox

(Norwich, Conn.) -- The Norwich Navigators came back from 1-0 and 3-1 deficts to tie, but the Baysox scored two in the 7th and two more in the 8th to go on to beat the Navigators, 7-3, at Dodd Stadium tonight.

Norwich had 11 hits in the game but managed just three runs in the game. Eliezer Alfonzo and Julio Cordido homered for the Navigators, with Cordido's shot coming in a two-run 5th that tied the game at three. But the Baysox picked up two go-ahead runs in the 7th innining off Oscar Montero and two more in the 8th off Anthony Pannone to put the game out of reach. The Bowie bullpen pitched four shutout innings to close out the game. Jason Grimsley (1-0), rehabbing from Tommy John surgery with Bowie picked up his first win of the season and Montero (4-2) took the loss. Sendy Rleal retired Dan Ortmeier with the tying run on the on-deck circle to earn his 7th save of the year.

The Navigators will try to draw even against Bowie tomorrow night when they send righty Seung Song to the mound against the Baysox. He will be opposed by Bowie righty Cory Morris. First pitch scheduled for 7:05pm.
