Naud, Karalis in Alumni Game

Two area high school hockey coaches who made their mark playing for the Tulsa Oilers will play in the third annual American Airlines Oilers alumni game on Saturday August 28th at 7 p.m. at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo).

Sly Naud, the leading scorer for the Oilers 1993 CHL championship team, and current high school coach for Jenks will play in the game for the third time. Joining him will be Tom Karalis, a defenseman on that 1993 title club, and current high school hockey coach for Broken Arrow.

"It's nice to feel 25 again rather than 40," Naud said about the game. "It's just for a few hours but it works."Karalis encourages families to come out to the game, because that's a big reason he plays. "The fact that my kids get to see me play is great. They really get a kick out of it."

Tickets for the alumni game will be $10 for all general admission seats. Oiler season ticket holders will be admitted early to the Oilers Ice Center, for preferred choice of seats.

The Oilers had the second highest point total increase in the CHL this season under head coach Bruce Ramsay, who was in his first season with the Oilers. They will have 33 home games at the BOK Center in the 2010-11 season, starting on Friday October 15th against the Wichita Thunder.

Season tickets for 2010-11 with plans for as low as $26 a month are now available by calling the Oilers office at 918-632-PUCK (7825).

Lawrence, Berger In Alumni GameTeammates From Last Title Return

Two of the lynchpins from the Tulsa Oilers last championship team in 1993 will return for the third annual American Airlines Oilers alumni game on Saturday August 28th at 7 p.m. at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo).

Doug Lawrence, the Oilers all time leading scorer and penalty minute leader will be playing his third alumni game, and Mike Berger, who has had his number 44 retired will also return this year after missing last year's game.

"I always love coming back to Tulsa, and seeing a lot of the old fans and the new fans," Berger said. "You get a bunch of generations of hockey players out there, how could you not have a good time. It shows what type of an organization Tulsa is that so many of the guys love getting together."

Lawrence was named the MVP of the inaugural alumni game in 2008 joked he wants to reclaim the title from last year's winner Luc Beausoleil.

"It's the one time a year I get the chance to get out there and skate and really have a lot of fun," Lawrence, who also had his number 9 retired last season, said.
