Naturals Win Home Run Fest

Springdale, AR - Despite hitting four home runs the Arkansas Travelers bowed to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 9-5 on Saturday night. Bobby Honeyman hit a lead off homer for the Travs but the early lead quickly disappeared as the Naturals homered with men on base in both the first and second innings. Travs starter Devin Sweet made it through five innings but took the loss getting tagged for seven runs and three long balls. Jon Heasley, the Naturals starter gave up three homers but allowed only four runs over six innings. Naturals star Bobby Witt, Jr. went 4-4 on the night ending a triple shy of the cycle. He scored two runs and drove in five.

Moments That Mattered

* MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer off of Sweet in the bottom of the first erasing the Travs early lead.

* After getting the first two outs of the second, four consecutive Naturals reached base capped by a three-run homer from Witt pushing their lead to five.

Notable Travs Performances

* DH Bobby Honeyman: 2-4, run, HR, RBI

* 3B David Masters: 1-3, BB, run, HR, RBI

News and Notes

* The Travs four home runs were a season high as were the seven combined blasts.

* Honeymna's leadoff homer was the first of the season for the Travs.
