Arkansas Travelers News Release

Springdale, AR-The Arkansas Travelers continued their season long struggles against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals as they dropped the opener of the series by a 4-2 score. With the loss, the Travs have won just four of 16 meetings against the Naturals this season. Rehabbing Major Leaguer Eric Skoglund made the start for NW Arkansas and allowed just an unearned run over four innings and the Trav offense never got on track as they were held to just six hits on the night. Chase De Jong pitched seven innings for the third consecutive start but surrendered the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and was tagged in the loss.

Moments That Mattered

* The first five Naturals hitters in the bottom of the third all put the first pitch of their at-bats in play with three connecting for hits. The blitz led to two runs and put the Naturals on top.

* Down a run, Arkansas loaded the bases with no one out in the sixth but were only able to tie the score on a sacrifice fly from Joey Curletta.

* Nick Dini led off the bottom of the seventh with a double off the left field wall on an 0-2 pitch. After being bunted to third, he would score the go-ahead run on Khalil Lee's base hit.
