Naturals Come Up Short Against Drillers

TULSA, Okla. - Orlando Calixte had a pair of singles but the Tulsa Drillers knocked 14 hits as they defeated the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 11-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Tulsa got on the board in the second inning with a Dustin Garneau RBI single. Kyle Parker hit a two-run home run in the third to give the Drillers a 3-0 lead. Tulsa added three runs on a pair of singles in the fifth inning for a 6-0 advantage.

Brett Eibner ended the shutout in the sixth inning, hitting his fifth home run of the season to left field. Of Eibner's five home runs, four have come against the Drillers.

The Drillers scored four runs in the sixth on a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly. A two-out single by Cristhian Adames in the seventh drove in the final run of the game for Tulsa, with eight of their 11 runs scoring on singles. All but one Tulsa starter had a hit, with four players having multi-hit games.

Tyler Matzek earns his second win of the season for Tulsa, both coming against the Naturals. Matzek allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts in six innings.

Danny Duffy is charged with his second straight loss. Duffy allowed three runs on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts in his third Major League rehab start with the Naturals.

The series shifts to Springdale tomorrow night. Jason Adam (0-7, 6.88 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Naturals. Christian Bergman (3-4, 3.12 ERA) is the scheduled starter for Tulsa for a 6 p.m. matchup. A limited number Jack Link's Beef Jerky Grass Berm seats are available at $6, with a $1 price increase on the day of the game.
