TODAY: The Potomac Nationals have a chance to claim their first series on the season against the Lynchburg Hillcats when they play the rubber matchup of their three-game series this afternoon from Lynchburg City Stadium. The P-Nats' are back to within four games of the first-place Hillcats in the North Division after last night's 4-2 victory. The victory also snapped Potomac's longest losing skid of the season at three games and helped Trent Jewett's club improve to a league-best 17-10 record on the road.
Lynchburg is the best home team in the Carolina League coming into this contest with a 18-7 record and have only lost one home series in the first half. They entered this series hitting .303 against Potomac pitching but in the last 48 hours, the Potomac staff has held the "Green and Gold" to just a .183 average including a 1-for-17 clip with runners in scoring position.
