From the Notes
14 Looking for 15: The Sounds are on a season-best 14-game winning streak. It's second-longest winning streak in franchise history. The longest winning streak in franchise history is 15 games from June 2-20, 1999. Nashville has outscored its opponents 81-44 during the 14-game stretch and have trailed in only two of the last eight games. The 14-game winning streak is the longest current streak in professional baseball.
Home Is Where The Heart Is: Tonight's starter, Frankie Montas, has pitched great at First Tennessee Park. In seven starts at home this year, Montas is 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA (33.0 IP/7 ER) while racking up 35 strikeouts. In five starts away from First Tennessee Park, Montas is 0-4 with a 8.10 ERA (23.1 IP/21 ER) with only 11 strikeouts. The right-hander has reverse splits as he has held left-handed batters to a .208 batting average (15-for-72) while right-handed hitters are batting .287 (41-for-143) against him.
Don't Tell Me It's Over: The Sounds overcame a four-run deficit in the eighth inning to win 6-5 last night. They trailed 5-4 entering the ninth inning and won their fourth game of the season when trailing after eight innings, which is tied with Round Rock for the most in the PCL. Both the Sounds and the Express are 4-48 this season when trailing after eight innings.
What a Relief: Pitcher Dean Kiekhefer picked up his eighth win of the season last night, which is tied for eighth in the PCL. It's the most wins among relief pitchers on the circuit. The eight wins is also a career-high for Kiekhefer.
