From the Notes
1,000 K's: Nashville pitchers eclipsed the 1,000 strikeout threshold in last night's loss to New Orleans. With 1,001 strikeouts on the season, Nashville pitchers have the fifth-most in the Pacific Coast League. The franchise-record for strikeouts in a single season was set in 2014 when Sounds pitchers racked up 1,236.
August Arms Race: Despite the three straight losses, the pitching has remained steady. In the month of August, Nashville pitchers have a 2.61 ERA (145.0 IP/42 ER) and have racked up 139 strikeouts while walking only 39. The 2.61 ERA in second-lowest in the PCL to only El Paso's 2.48 ERA. Opposing batters are hitting .238 in the month.
Homerless at Home: The Sounds enter tonight's game without a home run in 108 consecutive at-bats. The last home run hit by a Nashville player at First Tennessee Park was when Franklin Barreto hit a solo blast in the seventh inning of Nashville's 8-4 win on Tuesday. Barreto's homer is the only one hit in 171 at-bats during the homestand. On the season, the Sounds have hit 33 home runs at First Tennessee Park and 54 homers on the road.
