From the Notes
Staying Grounded: Last night's starter Kendall Graveman induced 10 groundouts including three double plays. He became the third Sounds pitcher to record 10 groundouts in a game this season. Eric Jokisch also induced 10 on May 7 vs. Memphis. Frankie Montas has the most of any Sounds pitcher this season with 12 on May 14 at Memphis.
Two Martinis: Nick Martini homered twice last night for his second career multi-home run game. It was the fourth time this season a Sounds player had homered twice in a game.
Quiet Neuse: Sheldon Neuse struck out three times last night and has now been fanned at least once in each of his last 19 games. He has registered a plate appearance in 37 games this season and struck out at least once in 34 of them.
Quality Over Quantity: Kendall Graveman recorded his second quality start of the season last night and 11th overall for the Sounds. Frankie Montas and tonight's starter James Naile each lead the team with three. The Sounds are 8-3 when their starting pitcher records a quality start.
Tough Time Getting to Three Over: At 21-19 on the season, the Sounds have equaled their high-water mark and have another opportunity to get to three games over .500 tonight. Each time Nashville has been two games over the even mark, they have lost the next game. On April 19, Nashville was 8-6 but lost 7-1 at Iowa. On April 27, the Sounds were 11-9 but were blanked by New Orleans, 3-0. On May 17 they were 20-18 but were thumped by Oklahoma City 13-3.
