From the Notes

Similar Standings: The Sounds enter tonight's game, the final game before the All-Star break, 12.5 games back of the first-place Memphis Redbirds. In 2017 they entered the final game before the All-Star break 13.5 games behind the first-place Redbirds. Memphis went on to win the American Southern Division by 22 games over the Sounds.

Mateo's Thievery: Jorge Mateo swiped his 15th bag of the season last night to lead the team. Franklin Barreto and Jaff Decker each stole 15 bases to pace the team in 2017 and Joey Wendle led the ball club with 14 in 2016. The last team leader with more stolen bases than 15 in a season was Craig Gentry with 25 in 2015. Jason Pridie swiped 20 that year.

Power Up: The Sounds tee'd off on the Iowa Cubs in the form of three home runs last night, their 13th multi-home run game of the season. Nashville is now 9-4 when slugging two or more home runs in a game.

RISP-y Business: Last night was just the third time the Sounds won a game this season when they failed to collect a hit with runners in scoring position as they went 0-for-9. Entering last night they were 2-16 when going hitless with runners in scoring position. Their only other wins came in a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma City on May 26 at First Tennessee Park when the Dodgers also went hitless with runners in scoring position and in an 8-6 win at Round Rock on May 31 when the Sounds used four solo home runs to help them earn the victory. In this series Nashville is just 1-for-26 in that situation.

Sounds Like a Cycle: The Sounds hit for the team cycle last night for the 14th time this season. Steve Lombardozzi singled and doubled, Brett Vertigan tripled, and Ramón Laureano, Franklin Barreto, Sheldon Neuse all homered to complete the feat. It was just the second time the Sounds hit for the team cycle with just one single. On May 22 against Colorado Springs the Sounds accomplished the feat on just four hits as Nick Martini singled, Josh Phegley doubled, Jorge Mateo tripled, and Barreto hit a home run.

Congrats to former @nashvillesounds Ryan Brasier ('15-'16) on getting back to the big leagues...1st time since '13. Having a great year at Pawtucket. Joins Pat Venditte as former Sounds now not appearing in Wednesday's AAA All-Star Game.

What is today's best superhero-themed @MiLB bobblehead? @BowieBaysox Trey Iron Mancini or @nashvillesounds Superbooster?
