Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees dropped their fifth straight game in a 15-6 loss to the El Paso Chihuahuas Sunday afternoon at Smith's Ballpark. The Bees' loss completed a series sweep for the Chihuahuas.

The Bees were outhit 17-11, allowing three home runs, including a grand slam, in the loss. El Paso starter Colin Rea (2-2) earned credit for the win with the Bees' starter, Ivan Pineyro (2-7) getting labeled with the loss.

Joe Hudson, in his third game with Salt Lake, blasted his first Triple-A home run of his career with a two-run dinger in the second to give the Bees a 3-0 lead. Unfortunately for Salt Lake, the lead quickly disappeared as the first-place Chihuahuas continued to separate themselves from the Bees in the Pacific South Division standings.

Sunday's contest was the last before the All-Star break. Following the break, the Bees will hit the road for a four-game set against the Sacramento River Cats. Salt Lake will return home to host the Las Vegas 51s on Monday, July 16th at 7:05 p.m. at Smith's Ballpark. Tickets are available at slbees.com.
