(Nashua, NH) A third inning grand slam by Tommy Rojas powered the Nashua Pride to an 8-5 victory over the New Jersey Jackals before 2,711 fans on Fidelity Investments Night at Historic Holman Stadium.

Rojas' fourth home run of the season was followed by Billy Becher's team-leading ninth of the year as the Pride went back to back for the second straight game. The five-run uprising erased an early 2-0 New Jersey lead as Nashua won its fourth in a row.

The Pride (14-11, 31-36) added two more in the fourth inning to take a 7-2 advantage on a Tom Creighton RBI single and a sacrifice fly by Larry Bethea. Nashua upped the lead to 8-2 in the sixth inning when Jayson Bass scored on a wild pitch.

Pride starter and winner Dan Reichert (7-5) went eight strong innings, scattering eight hits, surrendering three earned runs, walking one and striking out seven. Reichert gave way to reliever Lenny Carter to open the ninth inning. Carter was touched up for two hits and two unearned runs before leaving with two outs in the inning. Pride closer Derrick DePriest came out of the bullpen retire the potential tying run, Alex Fernandez, on a ground ball to second baseman Creighton and end the ballgame.

Joey Gomes had a pair of RBI's for New Jersey (12-14, 37-34) while Joe Mihalics added a triple and a double.

New Jersey starter Aaron Myers (4-7) lasted just four innings, allowing five hits, seven earned runs, walking six and striking out four.

The Pride will go for a three-game sweep of the Jackals on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 in Nashua. It's scheduled to be a battle of southpaws with former Nashua lefty Raul Valdes (5-2, 3.06) on the mound for New Jersey and Vincent Davis (4-4, 3.97) for Nashua.

Tomorrow, any customer with a Bank of America credit, ATM or debit card or an MBNA credit card will receive free admittance to the game as part of Bank of America Family Sunday. In addition, cardholders may bring up to four children under the age of 15 to the game for free.
