Milwaukee Wave News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) The Wave's next home game on Saturday, January 24 at U.S. Cellular Arena promises to be one of the "fastest" of the season – that is, if the game is anything like the theme for the evening.

The Milwaukee Mile and Lazer 103 are teaming up to present "Milwaukee Wave NASCAR Night" featuring Roush Racing's #99 Carl Edwards, the 2003 Craftsman Truck Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year. The 23-year old Edwards, who finished eighth in the 2003 Craftsman Truck Series points race, will be available to sign autographs in the main concourse of U.S. Cellular Arena from 5 PM until kick-off.

"This is a great opportunity for local fans to meet Carl Edwards, one of NASCAR's fastest rising stars who will be racing at the Milwaukee Mile NASCAR Craftsman Series event on June 26th," said Wave Director of Corporate Development John Tull. "We'll have some other great NASCAR theme related prizes to give away as well so it should be a great night for both soccer fans and racing fans."

In addition to signing autographs, Edwards will also participate in a halftime radio-controlled miniature car race against one lucky fan.

Tickets for the January 24th game, as well as all Wave home games ($18, $14, and $12) are on sale at the Wisconsin Center District (WCD) Box Office, located between U.S. Cellular Arena and the Milwaukee Theater at 510 W. Kilbourn Ave., all TicketMaster Outlets, or by phone charge at 414-276-4545. Groups of 10 or more should contact the Wave's Group Sales Dept. at 414-224-WAVE (9283) for group rate discounts. Season Ticket packages starting at just $90 are also available through the Wave Office. Call 414-224-WAVE for more information.

The Wave, which has won six straight games and currently sports a league-best record of 13-3 continues play during the 2003-04 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) regular season when it travels to Kansas City to battle the Comets this Friday, January 16, 7:35 PM at Kemper Arena. Milwaukee will also play the Force in Cleveland on Friday, January 23, 6:05 PM at the CSU Convo Center before hosting the Force in a rematch on the 24th. Coach Keith Tozer's team is 7-0 so far in its new home venue, the U.S. Cellular Arena.

All Wave games home and away may be heard live on 540 AM, WRRD ("The Word") with air time approximately 20 minutes prior to kick-off.
