Wheeling Nailers News Release

Wheeling W.V. – The Wheeling Nailers announce today that they have signed forward Jake Riddle for the 2004-05 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Riddle, 21, joins the Nailers for his first professional season after playing four seasons in the Western Hockey League a Major Junior League in Western Canada.

"Jake is a nice addition he has the skill to score, but is not afraid to play the physical game as well. He reminds me a lot of Steve Crampton in the way he plays," said Nailers Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Pat Bingham.

The 6'1 212 pound native of Minneapolis, Minnesota played last season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL. Riddle was a eighth round draft pick of the Minnesota Wild, he also has a brother that played the last four years at the University of Minnesota, who won two National Titles. Jake chose to go the Major Junior route because he is more physical and prefers that style of play.

The Nailers 2004-2005 season starts on October 22 in Toledo and the home opener will be on October 30 against the Storm, check www.wheelingnailers.com for other game dates. Season tickets and mini plans are now on sale, starting at only $60 for mini plans and $261 for season tickets. Don't miss your chance to see the Nailers build on last year's historic season.
