Nailers Rebound To Defeat Devils

WHEELING,WV- The Wheeling Nailers revenged their only loss of the season on Saturday Night with a great performance on Sunday afternoon against the Trenton Devils.

Tommy Goeble started the scoring in the first period with a blast that beat Trenton goaltender Jason Smith at 15:58. Aaron Clarke and Jonathan Bernier assisted on the goal.

In the second period Goebel would get his second of the night just 1:16 into the period with assists from Aaron Clarke and Rob Sirrani. Chris Tutalo would get Trenton on the board at 6:08 with a power play goal that beat Curtis Darling on the stick side. Wheeling would increase their lead to two on a power play goal by Nick Johnson. Wheeling native Bryan Ewing and Doug Krantz assisted on the goal. Just thirty seconds later Tommy Goebel would complete the hat trick with his third goal of the night at 9:41. Aaron Clarke would add to his goal count with his fifth goal of the season at 15:19 of the period. Matt Radoslovich would try to keep the Devils in the game with his first goal of the season pulling Trenton to within three. The second period would end 5-2 with Wheeling leading.

In the third period Curtis Darling would continue his great showing by stopping all but one of the 27 shots he faced to preserve the win for the Nailers. With the win Darling is now 3-0-1 on the season.

Wheeling would finish the game two for seven on the power play while the Devils went one for ten.
