Nailers Announce 2016-17 Broadcast Schedule

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced their broadcast schedule for the 2016-17 season. The Nailers are excited to partner with iHeartMedia and Mix 97.3 on the radio side, as well as WTRF My Ohio Valley and West Liberty University Television on the TV side.
Prior to last season, the Nailers and iHeartMedia made the decision to have the radio broadcasts return to Mix 97.3 (WKWK), following a three-year stint on a sister station. The return was very successful, and Mix 97.3 will once again serve as the flagship station. All preseason, regular season, and playoff games will air on Mix 97.3, starting with the pregame show 20 minutes before face-off, and finishing with the postgame show after the conclusion of that night's contest. In addition to the station's location on the radio dial, fans will be able to catch all of the action online, by visiting mix973wheeling.com, as well as on their mobile devices, by downloading the iHeartRadio application.
iHeartMedia will also air the Wheeling Nailers Power Hour live on Fox Sports AM 1400 (WBBD) from 6-7 pm on Tuesday nights. The radio show will take place at the 19th Hole at 780 National Road in Wheeling for the second consecutive season.
Following the successful run to the Kelly Cup Final, WTRF My Ohio Valley has added games to its broadcast schedule in 2016-17, as 16 of Wheeling's 36 road games will be shown on Comcast channels 3 and 803 (HD), as well as Suddenlink channel 22.
West Liberty University Television is also partnering with the Nailers, and will air as many as 19 road games on WLUTV-14 this coming season. That station is available on Comcast channel 14.
2015 ECHL All-Star Broadcaster and 2015-16 ECHL Media Relations Director of the Year DJ Abisalih will be behind the mic for his sixth season as "The Voice of the Nailers," calling every exciting minute of the 2016-17 season.
The Nailers will begin the 25th season of professional hockey in Wheeling on October 15th, when they play host to the Brampton Beast at 7:05. The Eastern Conference Championship Banner will get raised to the rafters, and alumni such as Doug Sauter, Darren Schwartz, and Louis Dumont will be part of the festivities.
