Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, City of Wheeling, and WesBanco Arena, the official home of the Nailers, announce today several new fan friendly upgrade projects now ongoing at the Arena.

The projects are scheduled to be completed during the Wheeling Nailers 2012-13 season.

Highlighting the upgrades are two spectacular 8 foot-by-11 foot video boards that will enhance the fan experience with new fun and exciting promotions that will provide for full fan interaction.

"The idea of video boards in WesBanco Arena is a dream come true for our fans, staff, and Board. Nailer's fans will now have the opportunity to experience the magic provided by video boards and have their fan experience greatly enhanced. I am very grateful for the commitment and energy the new Nailer's ownership has brought to this project and the upcoming hockey season." said WesBanco Arena Executive Director, Dennis Magruder.

The Nailers have hired one of North America's top consulting firms, Total Sports Entertainment (TSE), to integrate the video boards as well as the myriad of additional video enhancements fans will see throughout the concourse arena.

"TSE is thrilled to be helping the Nailers! The new ownership group has made great strides in the last six months in re-establishing Wheeling as a staple in the ECHL . WesBanco Arena has a great personality, not to mention the loudest goal horn I've ever heard! We'll be aiding the team in introducing some new technologies, a new customer service mentality, and a lot of fun promotions-related elements that will enhance the fan experience for Nailers fans for years to come." Said TSE VP of Consulting Services David Frost.

Accompanying the new video boards, will be sixteen new fifty inch televisions located at the concourse concessions stands that will significantly improve the patron entertainment experience. WesBanco Arena is also installing four new 42-inch televisions in the "Club" area of the arena.

New entertainment areas have also been added to increase the fan experience. Fans will now be able to book the party area located on the second floor of WesBanco Arena overlooking the ice. Party packages will be available through the Nailers office and the WesBanco Arena office for other events. Additional concession areas located in the main arena area will also be added. The new "Beer Garden" area located at ice level in the north east end of the arena will allow fans to enjoy beverages in an open area while still being able to watch the game. An additional concession area will be added on the second level of the arena located in the north west corner. Fans will be able to purchase beverages during the game without having to leave the main arena area.

"All of these changes, we hope will provide the best possible fan experience for our guest." said Nailers team Vice President Craig Bommer."

The renovations and changes focusing on the ultimate fan entertainment experience do not stop there. The city of Wheeling and WesBanco Arena have employed a private consultant to help with concession improvements. Fans will notice changes to the concessions and food options during the 2012-13 Nailers season.

The Nailers will begin the regular season on October 13th in Cincinnati, in the first of four straight road games, before playing their home opener on October 26th against the Reading Royals.
