Aberdeen Wings News Release
Former Aberdeen Wings goaltender Zach Nagelvoort, currently the goaltender for Division I University of Michigan, was named 2nd Star of the Week in the Big Ten conference. The honor comes as Nagelvoort helped the Wolverines sweep Michigan Tech over the weekend. This is Nagelvoort's second consecutive star of the week in the Big Ten conference. Over the weekend, he stopped 56 shots while posting a .949 save percentage and a 1.47 goals-against average. Last Friday night was a 3-2 overtime win and Saturday night was 2-1 win in regulation. Currently Nagelvoort is the 2nd highest rated collegiate goaltender in the nation with a 1.47 GAA and 3rd in save percentage (.948).
Nagelvoort and his Michigan Wolverines are off this weekend before traveling on the road for two games with Nebraska-Omaha, where Nagelvoort will battle against his former Aberdeen Wings teammate and captain Justin Parizek.
