Nagasaka, Burrows Combine to Two-Hit Grays, 5-0

(NASHUA, NH, June 20, 2007) Hideki Nagasaka and Angelo Burrows combined to allow just two hits as the Nashua Pride (15-10) shutout the Grays, 5-0, Wednesday night in front of 1,296 at Historic Holman Stadium.

Nagasaka (3-0) worked six and one-third innings, allowing both Grays hits, walking six and striking out six. Burrows recorded the final eight outs in order, walking none and striking out three.

The Pride attack was paced by catcher Luis Rodriguez who had two hits and knocked in a pair of runs. Rodriguez stroked a two-out, two-run single in the fifth to put the Pride ahead, 3-0. John Ramastella also had a pair of hits for Nashua.

Grays (11-15) starter Dustin Nielsen, the first of three Grays pitchers, lasted just four and two-thirds innings, surrendering six hits and three runs, walking three and striking out three. Nielsen drops to 2-2.

The rubber game of the series will be played Thursday night at Historic Holman Stadium. Game time is 7:05. It'll be a match-up of righthanders with 3-2 Tim Bausher on the mound for Nashua and 1-1 Beau Dannemiller for the Grays.
