@ Augusta, NJ. Time: 3:08 Attendance: 2365

W: Junior Guerrero (3-0) L: Tim Tisch (0-6) S: None

HR: None

If Worcester was still smarting from Sussex's walk-off win earlier in the evening, the Tornadoes got plenty of revenge in an offensive outburst for a 14-1 win. The 14 runs came on 15 hits, but none from a home run or a triple as Worcester wasted no time in surging to a 7-0 lead after two innings. 1B Chris Colabello and DH Patrick Perry smoked three hits each to lead Worcester. OF Keith Beauregard went 2-for-2 with two RBI and LF Andrew Wishy was 2-for-3 with three RBI to add to the Worcester onslaught. Wishy ran his hitting streak to 14 games, the second-longest streak so far this season in the Can-Am League. On the mound, Worcester starter Junior Guerrero excelled, going seven innings and allowing only one run while striking out seven. He allowed four hits and three walks and ran his record to 3-0.

Nashua pitchers Hideki Nagasaka and Angelo Burrows were spectacular in combining for a two-hit shutout of the Grays for a 5-0 win. The pair combined to strike out nine and gave up only two singles over nine innings. Nagasaka had to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the second, but he induced a double play to end the inning. Nagasaka and Burrows pitched perfect innings in five of the final six innings to earn the shutout. Burrows retired all eight batters he faced in order. C Luis Rodriguez was the offensive star for Nashua, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Rodriguez scored the first Nashua run in the fourth and then added a two-RBI single in the fifth.

Atlantic City 4, North Shore 3

@ Lynn, MA. Time: 2:48 Attendance: 2623

W: Brian Rodaway (5-1) L: Shaun McNamara (1-4) S: Matthew Pike (8)

HR: NS - Darren Blakely (6)

Atlantic City took an early lead and then got two strong innings from its bullpen to squeak out a 4-3 win against North Shore. The Surf took a 3-0 lead after the third inning and starter Brian Rodaway cruised into the seventh inning with a 4-1 lead. But Rodaway allowed a two-run longball to LF Darren Blakely in the bottom of the seventh to tighten the game up at 4-3. From there, relievers Jamie Tricoglou and Matthew Pike refused to allow North Shore to tie the game up, holding down the North Shore batters in the eighth and ninth. Atlantic City slugger 2B Ed Montague again swung a hot bat, finishing 3-for-4 with three RBI. RF Rico Santana joined him in the 3-for-4 effort.

W: Jorge Perez (3-2) L: Gary Galvez (1-3) S: TJ Stanton (6)

HR: QUE - Mike Galloway (4)

A gem from starting pitcher Jorge Perez and two RBI from LF Mike Galloway gave Quebec the 3-1 victory. Perez went seven and one-third innings, giving up eight hits, but walking no one and striking out four. The only run against him was unearned. Galloway singled in the first and homered in the fourth for his two RBI, which was all that Perez and the Capitales needed. TJ Stanton grabbed his sixth save of the season, pitching around a walk in the ninth and striking out one. Brockton starter Gary Galvez threw a quality start himself, going seven innings and allowing only six hits while striking out seven. But the two runs he gave up to Galloway charged him with the loss.

New Jersey 8, New Haven County 4

@ West Haven, CT. Time: 3:12 Attendance: 1247

W: Ben Thurmond (4-0) L: Rolando Valles (0-3) S: None

HR: NJ - Sandy Madera (5) NHC - Orlando Encarnacion (2)

New Jersey set a franchise record by running their record to 19-6 after an 8-4 win against New Haven County. The 19-6 mark is the franchise's best start after 25 games and keeps them in first place atop the CanAm League standings. Their key to victory was the five unearned runs they scored in the top of the first inning after New Haven County committed four errors in the inning. The Jackals only finished with six hits on the night, but the pitching staff made their lead hold, and New Jersey extended it in the seventh with three insurance runs. New Haven County starter Rolando Valles only gave up two hits in five innings, but he gave up five runs, all unearned, to take the loss. New Jersey DH Sandy Madera bombed a two-run homer in the seventh for the insurance runs and finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
