Mystics Game Notes:
Brittney Sykes led the way with a season-high 30 points while shooting 11-18 from the field, 2-5 from three and 6-6 from the free-throw line, also adding six assists, four rebounds and five steals.
Her performance marked her third career 30-point game, and her first as a Mystic.
She became just the 15th player in WNBA history and second in Mystics history (Chamique Holdsclaw) to record at least 30 points and five steals in a game. The last such performance in the league came by Sophie Cunningham on July 12, 2022.
This was her league-leading fifth game this season recording 5+ steals as she leads the WNBA with 2.2 steals per game on the year.
She has now marked a career-high with 67 total steals on the season, passing her previous high of 65 which came last season.
Queen Egbo scored a career-high 16 points, while shooting a perfect 7-7 from the field to go along with three rebounds, two steals and one block.
She is just the second player this season and sixth in Mystics history to score 15+ points on 100% shooting from the field. The last such performance by a member of the Mystics came August 9, 2018 by now Associate Head Coach Latoya Sanders.
This was her fourth time scoring in double-digits since coming over to the Mystics via trade, and her 17th time in her career overall.
This was her 19th career game recording at least one block and steal in a game, and her sixth such performance with the Mystics this season.
Tianna Hawkins added 13 points and six rebounds on 5-9 shooting from the field, her fifth time scoring in double-digits over her last six games.
Over five games in August she is now averaging 15.2 ppg (2nd on team over span) and 5.4 rpg on 58.5% from the field and 40.0% from three.
In her first game back after missing 16 consecutive games (left hip strain), Shakira Austin posted four points, four rebounds, two assists and a block in 13 minutes off the bench.
Brittney Sykes and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough became just the fourth pair of teammates to each record 4+ steals in a game this season, with Sykes totaling five and Walker-Kimbrough a season-high four in the contest.
