Against the Connecticut Sun, Washington scored 36 points in the fourth quarter, tying the most points ever allowed in a quarter by Connecticut. On team growth: "I think we are a much better team than we were the first game and preseason game. We continue to gel more, to learn more and execute, so hopefully that'll continue."

FrOm the FrOnt line:

What a tough week that was for the Mystics, who dropped all three contests, two of which came in the final seconds of the game. The silver lining of the week was that the team showed that they can play and compete with the league's best and will battle un- til the final whistle. The ball security has gotten bet- ter, but still needs to tighten up in the final minutes of the game when the possessions mean the most. It was good to see C-Lang get going and look like her old self as she dropped in 25 against Connecticut on Sunday and Jasmine Thomas showed a hot hand from the outside, knocking down three 3-pointers for a season-high 17 points. Lang also notched her 1,000th career rebound in Sunday's game vs. the Sun. Up next, the Mystics host the New York Liberty on Friday night at Verizon Center in a crucial division bout.
