4:00 p.m. Did you Know....Nakia Sanford Nakia Sanford signed with the Washington Mystics as a free agent on April 30th, 2003. How often do you go shopping? The team probably calls me a shopaholic. But I'm doing better; I probably go about
once or twice a week. What is the most expensive clothing item you've ever bought? I will have to say that I've paid One hundred and fifty dollars for a pair of
shoes... but that doesn't count. I travel a lot and I buy stuff over seas and it's
cheaper so I don't spend that much money on my clothes. Describe your style Comfortable. I try to not to look like I'm trying to be dressy. Like a tank top and
jeans, jeans are my favorite accessories. What was your favorite item of clothing as a kid? When I was little we wore the biker shorts and the slouch socks, but that's all in
the past. So it's ok to print that. Who had the most influence on your style growing up? I would have to say that I watched the mistakes other people made. Not one
particular person, but just being out somewhere and saying, "Oh, I know she's not
wearing that." My friends and I are always talking about people's dress. I try to
dress in a way that doesn't draw attention to what I wasn't supposed to wear. I'm
dark skinned and tall, so if I see a dark-skinned girl or a tall girl wearing
something that doesn't look good, I know I'm not supposed to wear that because that
style won't look good on me. Did you ever wear your clothes backwards like Kris-Kross? No I don't remember that phase. My grandma wouldn't have let me do that. Wait, I
take that back. I did have a pair of overall shorts I wore backwards. What is the one outfit or clothing you regret wearing? When I was little, the one piece with the skirt and the biker shorts underneath. It
was like a tank top or a shirt, and it would have a skirt with polka dots and biker
shorts attached to it. Mine was black with pink polka dots on the skirt and black
stripes.
