Tue., June 15 vs. San Antonio W 59-57
Tynesha Lewis hit a driving lay-up at the buzzer to seal the win for the Sting. Tammy Sutton-Brown paced the Sting with 17 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Adrienne Goodson led the Silver Stars with 19 points.
Fri., June 18 at Connecticut W 63-58 (OT)
Connecticut's Taj McWilliams-Franklin hit a putback at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. Allison Feaster led with Sting with 14 points while Tammy Sutton-Brown (10 points, 11 rebounds) and Charlotte Smith-Taylor (11 points, 10 rebounds) each recorded a double-double. Nykesha Sales recorded 19 points to pace the Sun.
Sun., June 20 vs. Los Angeles W 68-63 (2OT)
Nicole Powell hit a three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. Then, Tynesha Lewis hit a three-pointer at the end of the first overtime to force double overtime. Allison Feaster led the Sting with a season-high 20 points, including a three-pointer to clinch the win with 54 seconds left in the game. Lisa Leslie paced LA with 14 points and 20 rebounds.
Sting News and Notes
What a Week!
Currently on a four-game win streak, the Sting won two games in overtime this past week and another at the buzzer. For the week, Tammy Sutton-Brown posted back-to-back double-doubles and set a new career high with 12 rebounds, Charlotte Smith-Taylor posted her first career double-double at Connecticut and Allison Feaster averaged 14.3 ppg and clinched both overtime games with her outside shooting (45.5%). The Sting is currently tied for third place in the East at 6-5, with games against 1st place Detroit on Wednesday and 2nd place Indiana on Saturday.
Buzzer Beaters
Buzzer beating shots have been a factor in the Sting's last three games. Tynesha Lewis hit a buzzer beater on 6/15 against San Antonio to give the Sting the win, 59-57. Connecticut's Taj McWilliams-Franklin hit a lay-up to send the Sting vs. Sun game on 6/18 into overtime. The Sting would go on to win the contest, 63-58. On 6/20, against the Los Angeles Sparks, Nicole Powell sank a three pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. Tynesha Lewis hit a three-pointer at the end of the first overtime to force a second extra period. The Sting would go on to capture the win, 68-63.
Powell Shines
Sting rookie Nicole Powell had an outstanding game on 6/20, recording new career highs in points (13), rebounds (7), minutes (24) and three pointers made (3). Powell currently leads the league in three-point field goal percentage at 61.1% (11-18).
Breast Health Awareness Night
The Sting will host their annual Breast Health Awareness Night on Saturday, June 26. The first 2,500 fans will receive pink and white mini balls courtesy of Presbyterian Hospital. Pink ribbons and educational materials will be distributed. Breast cancer survivors will participate in the pre-game ball exchange and other game promotions.
Anticipating the Bobcats
Sting players Nicole Powell, Tammy Sutton-Brown, and La'Keshia Frett will be on hand at the Bobcats Draft Party on June 24 to sign autographs and mingle with fans. The draft party begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Coliseum.

Catch the Sting on WJZY-UPN 46 on July 18 at 4:00 p.m. as they travel to New York to face the Liberty and on July 31 at 10:00 p.m. as they play the Monarchs in Sacramento. The Sting will conclude their season on ESPN2 at 2:00 p.m. as they travel to Detroit on September 19.
