
Mystics Acquire Jade Melbourne from Storm

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Mystics announced today that they have acquired guard Jade Melbourne from the Seattle Storm in exchange for Washington's 2025 third round pick.
Melbourne (5-10) made her WNBA debut last season, appearing in 29 games off the bench for the Seattle Storm, averaging 2.6 points, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game. The Australian native was selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Storm before signing with the team prior to the 2023 season.
Melbourne has been a member of the Canberra Capitals of the WNBL (Australia) since 2021. She averaged 16.3 points, 7.6 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in the 2023-24 season. Melbourne also represented Australia in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying tournament in February 2024.
