The Schooners would grab the lead in the 2nd inning off a three-run home run by Ryan Ramiz, his 2nd of the year. Martin Figuroa singled and then Aaron Hill walked to set up Ramiz. He belted a 1-2 fastball over the fence in center field to give the Schooners the lead.

The Schooners would add to their lead in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th innings.

Another home run in the 4th inning would make it 5-0. Martin Figuroa hit a two-run towering blast that ended up in the woods in right center field.

In the 5th inning, Rich Slenker singled to left field scoring Nick Mascelli. Then with one out Aaron Hill hit a Sac Fly to left field scoring Chase Lunceford from third to make it 7-0.

The Schooners would tack on another run in the 6th inning off a Nick Mascelli double to the gap, scoring Taishi Terashima.

Two more RBI singles in the 7th inning from Ryan Ramiz and Taishi Terashima would put the Schooners up 10-0.

While the hitters did their jobs at the plate, the pitchers for the Schooners did their job on the mound as the shut out the Bay Sox. It started from the first pitch with starting pitcher Jonathan Signore who was dominant. He started off the game striking out the side in the first inning and would have nine strikeouts in his five innings of work. The relief effort of Carson Teel, Danny Marsh, and Jason Foley also pitched great keeping the Bay Sox off the board well striking out seven batters combined.

With the win, the Schooners improve to 24-14 and sit 2.5 games over the Newport Gulls in first place. The Schooners will be back in action again tomorrow versus Keene Swamp Bats. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05PM.
