Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release

The TinCaps travel to South Bend tonight to play game three of the Midwest League Eastern Division Championship Series. The winner of tonight's game, scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m., will take on either the Beloit Snappers or the Quad Cities River Bandits in the Midwest League Championship Series. Tonight's scheduled starters are 2011 first-round draft choice Joe Ross for Fort Wayne and 2013 first-round draftee Aaron Blair for South Bend.

In game three of either a first or second-round series dating back to 2005, the record is an even split between home and road teams. The home team has won 10 games while the road team has won 10 games. In that same time frame, the TinCaps are 3-1 when facing a game three. In 2009 they defeated South Bend in the first round at Parkview Field, and Great Lakes in the second round, also at home. They lost to Lake County in 2010 at Classic Park and eliminated the Captains on the road last year with a 13-6 victory to advance to the Championship Series.

Tonight's broadcast can be heard on The Fan 1380 and TheFanFortWayne.com, with pregame coverage starting at 6:45 p.m.
