SYRACUSE (NY) - The Syracuse Chiefs fell to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees 6-0 in Spring Training action Friday at the Yankees Complex in Tampa, Florida. Mike Mussina started for the Yankees and tossed five scoreless innings striking out four Chiefs.
Tomo Ohka started for Syracuse and allowed five runs, three earned, over five and two thirds innings. Ryan Houston pitched a scoreless inning in relief for the Chiefs.
Curtis Thigpen had two hits for Syracuse.
The Chiefs (9-5-1) play their final Spring Training game on Saturday at 1:00 PM when they host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees at the Blue Jays complex in Dunedin, Florida.
