
Musketeers Top Lancers, 5-3

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Omaha Lancers were defeated by the Sioux City Musketeers by a final score of 5-3 on Sunday evening.
The Lancers got on the board in the first period when Tyler Carpenter (16:28) scored off a rebound to beat Akira Schmid. Micheal Posma shot the puck on at Schmid where Carpenter found the loose puck to snap it in for a 1-0 lead.
In the second period, Nolan Renwick (1:43) netted an early power-play goal to get the Lancers ahead 2-0. The Musketeers answered back with two goals within under a minute of each other when Hryckowian (8:30) and Irey (9:07) scored to even the game 2-2. Later into the middle frame, Carrabes (16:10) scored to get Sioux City their first lead of the night 3-2.
In the third period, and on the power-play, Tyler Carpenter (13:08) snuck the puck past Schmid to even the game 3-3. The Musketeers took back the lead when Chase Bradley (16:56) netted the puck on a one-time shot. Omaha pulled Dobes for the extra skater, but Sioux City would take advantage, scoring an empty-net goal to take the win 5-3.
The Lancers are now 24-19-1-1 on the season. They still currently sit at 3rd place in the USHL Western Conference with 50 points.
Omaha is on the road this weekend to take on the Fargo Force for two games at Scheels Arena starting on Friday at 7:05 PM and then Saturday at 6:05 PM. All of the weekend action is on MixLR and HockeyTV.
