
Musketeers Announce Captains for 2020-21 Season

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Musketeers are proud to announce Justin Hryckowian captain for the 2020-21 season. Christian Jimenez, Brenden Olson, Gabe Blanchard and Kirklan Irey will serve as alternate captains.
"The leadership group is comprised of people that reflect our culture and standards," said Sioux City Head Coach Luke Strand. "We know our selection of our captaincy will provide a balance of experience, ability, and leadership qualities that give our team a great foundation."
Hryckowian will serve as the Musketeers' full-time captain while Jimenez and Olson will don the "A" when the team sports their white uniforms. Blanchard and Irey will assist as captains when the Musketeers wear green.
Committed to Northeastern University, Hryckowian is in his first season with Sioux City after spending the previous year in the USHL with Cedar Rapids. As a rookie with the RoughRiders, the L'ÃŽle-Bizard, Quebec native registered 14 points in 17 games.
Jimenez returns to the Musketeers for his second season after bursting onto the scene last year. Committed to Harvard, the Yorktown Heights, NY native was named to the 2019-20 USHL All-Rookie First Team after registering seven goals and 28 points in 42 games.
After spending the previous two seasons with the Sioux Falls, Olson joins the Musketeers after an off-season trade with the Stampede. Committed to Minnesota State, the Eau Claire, WI native notched 10 goals and 15 points with Sioux Falls last year.
Back on the blueline for his second season, Blanchard, a UMass-Lowell commit, brings his physical presence back to Sioux City once again. A native of Buffalo, NY, Blanchard registered four goals and 11 points to go along with 64 penalty minutes in 45 games as a rookie.
Up the middle the Musketeers have a familiar face in Irey, a center who hails from Bismarck, ND. Committed to Bemidji State University, Irey returns to the Musketeers for his second season after notching six goals and 17 points in 45 games last year.
The Musketeers open the season at home this Saturday against Tri City. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm, tickets are available at www.musketeershockey.com or at the Tyson Event Center box office.
