
Mushinski's Career Night Leads Hooks to Shutout

CORPUS CHRISTI - Parker Mushinski struck out a career-high 11 batters over 6.0 innings to lead the Hooks to a 3-0 win in the series opener against the Frisco RoughRiders Tuesday at Whataburger Field.
Mushinski allowed a two-out single to Josh Jung in the first inning, then retired the next 14 batters faced. That span included seven straight swinging strikeouts and eight of nine from the third through fifth innings. He got through 6.0 without allowing a walk on just two hits.
Frisco's Cole Winn matched him stride for stride, taking a two-hitter through six. He allowed a leadoff walk to Norel Gonzalez in the seventh and was pulled for Josh Advocate. Korey Lee, making his Double-A debut, promptly welcomed Advocate by launching a two-run homer into the Hooks bullpen.
The Hooks got an insurance run on a Gonzalez RBI single in the eighth.Colin McKee worked 2.0 scoreless innings and Kyle Serrano secured the save in the ninth.
