JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Springfield Jr. Blues 3-2 on Saturday Night, thanks to two goals from Omar Mullan. The win is the Tomahawks third straight and first of the season at the War Memorial.
Both teams got on the board early in the game, as Springfield's Alex Baskakov scored on a wrist shot above the right shoulder of Alex Okicki at 6:22. Johnstown responded just over a minute later, with Collin Finkhouse scoring at 7:23. Mitch Hall picked up the assist, giving him six on the season.
Omar Mullen scored his first goal of the game, deflecting a shot by Mitch Hall into the net at 3:38. Mullan picked up the game-winner with his second goal of the game at 7:09. Springfield added a third period goal as Max Kalter scored at 2:14.
Alex Okicki earned his third straight win, stopping 20 of 22 shots. Sandro Aeschlimann took the loss, stopping 17 of 20 shots.
The Tomahawks conclude their weekend series with the Jr. Blues tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
