October 10, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

SOUTHAVEN, MS - Two different goal scorers and 15 saves from rookie goaltender Brian Foster helped the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs finish their exhibition schedule with a 2-0 victory over the Mississippi RiverKings Sunday afternoon at the DeSotoCivicCenter. The two teams will now spend the week preparing to face one another in Friday's regular season opener at the CenturyTelCenter.

Shane Hart and Travis Clayton scored the goals for Bossier-Shreveport, who finished with 36 shots while surrendering just 15 to Mississippi. Foster stopped all 15 shots he saw to earn the shutout in his first action since joining the team prior to Saturday's exhibition game.

The Mudbugs took a 1-0 lead on a first-period powerplay when Jeff Martens and Shane Hart hooked up for the second consecutive night. Justin Aikins earned the other assist on Hart's goal at 14:52 and the 'Bugs took a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Despite outshooting the RiverKings 28-8 over the last two periods, Bossier-Shreveport couldn't add to its lead until Clayton tallied with less than four minutes remaining in the contest. Steven Crampton and Shawn Limpright assisted on Clayton's goal, which provided the final 2-0 margin.

Kyle McNulty made 34 saves in defeat for Mississippi, who finished 0 for 4 on the powerplay. The Mudbugs scored once on five powerplay opportunities.

The 'Bugs will now return home to continue their training camp leading up to Friday's season opener against the RiverKings at the CTC. Season tickets, mini-plans and group tickets for the 2010-11 season are available now, so call 318-752-BUGS or visit www.mudbugshockey.com for ticketing information.
