Mud Hens End July with an Eight-Game Homestand

After and eight-game road trip, the Mud Hens are returning to Toledo to take on two International League rivals, the Pawtucket Red Sox and the Richmond Braves. This is the first time the Hens have faced the Red Sox and the second time they have faced the Braves at home this season. The Hens start the homestand by facing Pawtucket for four games on July 24-27 and will follow that series with another four-game series against Richmond on July 28-31. Pawtucket is currently in fourth place in the IL North while Richmond is currently in first place in the IL South. This homestand will feature three nights of fireworks, the High School Home Run Derby finals, a game used bat auction, an appearance by Rubber Boy, and a hilarious hat giveaway.

Tuesday, July 24 (Pawtucket, 1st pitch @ 7 p.m.) - The Mud Hens will host the Pawtucket Red Sox for the first time in the 2007 season for a four-game series. The contest between the Hens and the Red Sox can be heard live on Sports Radio 1470 AM - The Ticket and seen live on BCSN.

Wednesday, July 25 (Pawtucket, 1st pitch @ 7 p.m.) - Haha! Yes, it is hilarious hat night at Fifth Third Field. The first 2,500 fans to enter the gates will receive a hilarious hat! Thursday, July 26 (Pawtucket, 1st Pitch @ 7 p.m.) - Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, who is making a MLB rehab start, is expected to start against the Mud Hens in this game. Rubber Boy, the human contortionist, will be making an appearance at Fifth Third Field this evening as well. The United States Marine Corps will be presenting Veteran's Night at Fifth Third Field. The four finalists from the prior installments of the High School Home Run Derby will duke it out in the HS Home Run Derby Finals that will take place after the game. Friday, July 27 (Pawtucket, 1st Pitch @ 7p.m.) - This is the final game of the four-game series against the Red Sox. Tonight's game features a game used bat auction that will take place on the concourse during the game. In addition to the auction, it is also the Komen Race For the Cure Night at Fifth Third Field. Saturday, July 28 (Richmond, 1st pitch @ 7 p.m.) - The Mud Hens will host the Richmond Braves for a four-game series. Prior to the game the US Air Force will have a swear-in ceremony on the field. Don't forget to brush your teeth before coming to Fifth Third Field as it is dental night at the park. Stick around after the game for the sensational post-game fireworks display. Sunday, July 29 (Richmond, 1st pitch @ 7 p.m.) - As with every Sunday at Fifth Third Field, fans can get autographs from Mud Hens players prior to the game from 5:45-6:15 p.m. on the main concourse. Fans will receive a Blade baseball/Cheer card giveaway as they enter the park. Don't forget to bring the whole family to the game for post-game Kids Run the Bases and fireworks.
