Toledo Mud Hens Promotions for June 1 - 8
Friday, June 1 ( Buffalo, 1st pitch at 7 p.m. - Gates open at 5:30 p.m.) - The Mud Hens open a four-game series with the Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets.
- Bring your tents and sleeping bags for Boy Scout Sleepover.
- Stay in your seat after the game for a fireworks show at Fifth Third Field.
Saturday, June 2 ( Buffalo, 1st pitch at 7 p.m. - Gates open at 5:30 p.m.) - The Hens continue the series against the Buffalo Bisons.
- A Special Needs Baseball Clinic will be taking place at the ball park from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. with several Mud Hens players participating in the event. The camp is open to any child between the ages of 5 and 18 with any disability. Special Needs Clinic registration includes a Mud Hens Baseball Camp T-shirt, a souvenir baseball for autographs, and a FREE ticket for the camper to attend the game. Spots are still available and you can sign up at www.mudhens.com/camps .
- A little bit of the country is coming to the city for Country Concert Night at Fifth Third Field! The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a new cowboy hat. Country music will be featured before, during and after the game. Jonalee White & The Late Night Drivers will be headlining Country Concert Night. Jonalee has had five Top 40 Singles from her eOne Entertainment-distributed sophomore album, "Sugar", via Lick Records.
- The Mystery Ball Sale is back! Fans can purchase a "mystery bag" for the price of $20 which includes a guaranteed autograph from current and former Hens players, Detroit Tigers players and Hall of Famers. The proceeds benefit the Miracle League of Northwest Ohio. The sale will begin at 6 p.m. when the gates open on the main concourse. Fans should stay put for the post-game fireworks.
- The Boy Scouts will be enjoying their second sleepover of the weekend at the ballpark.
Sunday, June 3 ( Buffalo, 1st pitch at 6 p.m. - Gates open at 4:30 p.m.) - The Hens and Bisons will be back at it in game three of the series.
- It's Mud Hens Autograph Sunday! Two Hens players will be available for autographs an hour before the first pitch located above section 119 on the main concourse and will last for 30 minutes.
- The red carpet is being unveiled for part of the cast and director of the movie, "I Heart Shakey". The Toledo Mud Hens are referenced throughout the film, which is directed by Toledo native, Kevin Cooper. The movie is a family film about a 35-year old widower J.T. O'Neil, his exceptionally smart daughter, and their loyal mutt, Shakey. The family moves from our small city of Toledo to the raging metropolis of Chicago. Misreading the fine print of the rental contract, the family is forced to get rid of their adorable pooch. Shakey and J.T.'s daughter devise a plan to keep Shakey and teach J.T. about loyalty and keeping the family together. The Toledo Mud Hens will be featuring autographs and PAWtographs with Kevin, lead actress Rylie Jo Behr, and lead pup Shakey! Fans can also expect to see Shakey performing some stunts on the field, as well as ticket giveaways to see "I Heart Shakey" at the Maumee Indoor Theater!
- Daffy Duck will be making a special appearance! Daffy will be available for photos and autographs on the main concourse during the game.
- The Life Connection of Ohio will be recognized during the game. Life Connection of Ohio is an independent, not-for-profit agency designated by the federal government as the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) for Northwest and West Central Ohio. The organization will have an information table located on the main concourse.
- This Sunday features the first Chicklets dance performance of the year! The Chicklets Dance Team is comprised of girls from ages five to twelve, and they will be wowing us on the field prior to the game. Girls can still sign up for games on July 22nd, August 5th and August 12th by going to www.mudhens.com/chicklets .
- Like every Sunday, it is Kid's Day, and that means Kids Run the Bases! All children, ages 12 and under, are invited to run the bases immediately following the Mud Hens game. The line starts between sections 115 and 116.
- Fans will want to stick around after the game for fireworks.
Monday, June 4 ( Buffalo, 1st pitch at 7 p.m. - Gates open at 6 p.m.) - The Mud Hens and Bisons wrap up their series in Toledo.
Tuesday, June 5 ( Charlotte, 1st pitch at 7 p.m. - Gates open at 6 p.m.) - The Hens and Knights open a four-game series at Fifth Third Field! The Charlotte Knights are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
Wednesday, June 6 (Charlotte, 1st pitch at 7 p.m. - Gates open at 6 p.m.) - The Hens and Knights will play game two of their series at Fifth Third Field.
Thursday, June 7 (Charlotte, 1st pitch at 7 p.m. - Gates open at 6 p.m.) - The Hens and Knights face off in game three of their series.
- Thursday is Alzheimer's Awareness Night at the ballpark, as the Mud Hens will welcome members of the Northwest Ohio Chapter. The organization will be promoting awareness of the disease on the main concourse during the game. The mission of the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter is to enhance the quality of life of all persons affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders through comprehensive services, effective advocacy, support for research and access to current information and resources.
Friday, June 8 (Charlotte, 1st pitch at 7 p.m. - Gates open at 5:30 p.m.) - The Mud Hens and Knights conclude their series in Toledo.
- The Toledo Mud Hens welcome back one of Minor League Baseball's most entertaining in-game shows, the ZOOperstars! The act is a crazy combination of animalistic superstars that are described as lovable, outrageous, zany and hysterical. Their unique costumes and character names contribute to the routines that are adored by fans of all ages.
- Make sure to bring the s'mores for the first Girl Scout Sleepover of the year at the ballpark.
- Fans will want to stay for the post-game fireworks, too!
All Mud Hens games can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio, WCWA, and seen live on BCSN. Both the radio and television pre-game shows start at 30 minutes before the scheduled game time.
