LINCOLN, NE-Stars goalie Jacob Mucitelli has been awarded USHL goaltender of the week for his performance over the past three games. The first-year netminder was a wall in net Friday, anchoring the Stars defensive effort by stopping 33 of 34 on the way to a 2-1 win over Sioux Falls. Mucitelli closed the contest with a pair of saves to secure the victory.

In Saturday's meeting with Sioux City, the Deerfield, NY native was solid in the loss, allowing three goals on 23 shots with one coming on a 2-on-1 chance.

Making his fourth consecutive start on Sunday, Mucitelli was lights out, denying all 27 shots sent his way. In blanking Tri-City, he earned his and his team's first shutout of the season.

Mucitelli finished the weekend by making 80 saves on 84 chances, posting a .952 save percentage while allowing just 1.33 goals per game.

On the year, Mucitelli now holds a 3-2-1-0 record, 2.67 GAA and .907 save percentage. The rookie has played a crucial role for Lincoln's solid start to the month as the Stars look to continue their climb up the standings.
