BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Rudy Guillen claimed the Old Navy Home Run Jackpot for the third time this season, and the Battle Creek Yankees claimed a 5-2 victory over the Kane County Cougars in a Midwest League baseball game Monday night at C.O. Brown Stadium. The final game of the four-game series - and the final meeting of the regular season - is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Guillen crushed a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning - the Old Navy Home Run Jackpot inning ‹ to give the Yankees a 4-0 lead. Guillen won a $100 Old Navy gift card to add to the two he previously won - gift cards worth $475 and $100 - in the season-long home-game promotion for Battle Creek Yankees hitters. (The season jackpot started at $25, and increases $25 each game a home run isn¹t hit in the Old Navy Home Run Jackpot inning. It then returns to $25 after each jackpot homer.) Guillen is also in the lead to win the monthly Old Navy Home Run contest - worth another $100 gift card.

Battle Creek now holds a 4-3 series edge over Kane County, with the final meeting of the regular season between the two teams set for Tuesday night. The Cougars lead the Western Division - they have been in first place since April 17 - and are 18-4 against intradivision rivals this season, but just 10-13 against Eastern Division teams.

Battle Creek is 13-10 against teams from the Western Division and 9-12 against Eastern Division rivals. The Yankees (22-22) are at the .500 mark for the 15th time this season.

Ray Clark (1-1) scattered four hits over eight innings to pick up the win. Jared Burton (2-1) was tagged with his first loss of the season.

The Yankees took a 1-0 lead in the third on a leadoff single and stolen base by Juan Camacho, and an RBI single by Alexander Santa. Battle Creek made is 4-0 in the fourth as Matt Carson laced a one-out single, Eric Verbryke was hit by a pitch and Guillen homered.

Nick Rogers hit the first pitch of the sixth inning for a home run to pull Kane County within 4-1.

Battle Creek scored in the eighth on a one-out single by Carson, a wild pitch, and an RBI single by Guillen. Carson had three hits to pace the Yankees. Jayson Drobiak hit his league-leading 18th double of the season.

The Cougars loaded the bases in the ninth with three straight singles off reliever Matt Brumit, but scored just once on a one-out sacrifice fly.
