Movember's on the Move
November 20, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New England Revolution News Release
There are four key numbers to know for better health: your weight, your blood pressure, your cholesterol and how much money the Revs have raised for Movember.
The first three numbers are all personal. But the last one - that's a big number we want everyone to know.
As of 3:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 20 (two-thirds of the way through November), the Revs' entry in Movember has raised $12,588.
That number - raised through the hard work and upper-lip sacrifice of 65 members of the Revolution's team - also includes a $2,500 match donation from the New England Revolution Charitable Foundation, which was met in just five days after being issued last Thursday.
The efforts of the #NERevsMos has also been impactful on a larger scale. In terms of total fundraising, the Revs are ranked 50th nationally, third in Boston and second in MLS' network.
And if you consider that the leading team in MLS' network is Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment - the parent company of Toronto FC, the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), the Toronto Raptors (NBA) and the Toronto Marlies (AHL) - and they include all four teams and their staff in the MLS network, then the Revs are really the top stand-alone MLS team in the league rankings.
So that's saying something.
But we aren't done yet. We still have 10 days to fundraise and help make as big of an impact on men's health as we can.
We've hit $10,000, but there is nothing saying we can't get to $15,000 - or even $20,000! - before Dec. 1.
If you haven't donated yet, take a quick click over to the Revs' Movember page and register your donation.
Anything helps the cause, and your donation is fully tax-deductable.
