The Lancaster Barnstormers had two young pitchers to throw against the strong High Point Rockers offense on Wednesday evening, and the Rockers struck for 10 runs in the first three innings en route to a 13-4 victory over the 'Stormers in the middle game of a three-game series.

Logan Morrision belted a pair of homers and drove in three, and Giovanny Alfonzo contributed a three-run double in the first to pace High Point's 14-hit attack.

Danny Taggart (0-1), a 24 year-old from Long Island made his first Atlantic League start and fell victim to the first of Morrison's homers, a two-run shot to right center, and the Alfonzo double as High Point erased an early 2-0 Lancaster lead with a six-run inning.

Next up was 22 year-old Jamarcus Lang, who allowed four third inning runs on three singles, two walks and a hit batter as the Barnstormers fell behind, 10-2.

Morrison added his second homer, a towering drive to right off Dominic DiSabatino in the fifth before DiSabatino retired the next six Rocker hitters. Edwin Arroyo added a solo shot off Caleb Gindl in the home half of the eighth inning.

Gindl was 3-for-4 with a double for the Barnstormers. Blake Gailen tacked on an RBI double in the fifth inning. Kelly Dugan and LeDarious Clark each singled home a run in the top of the first as the Barnstormers took the early lead.

Isaac Sanchez (1-0) pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win for the Rockers.

The two clubs wrap up the three-game series Thursday at 7:00. Andro Cutura (1-0) will make the start for the Barnstormers against Craig Stem (0-1). Fans may tune into the webcast on the Barnstormers YouTube Channel.
