Belleville Bulls News Release
SUDBURY, ON -ÃÂ With just four games left in the regular season, the Belleville Bulls are trying to make every shift count from here on out. Thursday's 8-1 defeat at the hands of the North Bay Battalion has the Bulls coming into their third game in three nights looking for answers.
An early goaltending change for the second straight game on Thursday didn't prompt the same response as Wednesday night's swap.ÃÂ Nick Paul scored twice for the Troops as they powered their way to victory quickly and physically.
The Bulls should expect a comparitive level of competition tonight in Sudbury when they face the Central Division leading Wolves. Sudbury scuffled in recent weeks, stringing together a series of four consecutive losses before regaining their hold on the division with a 4-2 win over the Barrie Colts on Wednesday night.ÃÂ
At 32-21-3-7, Sudbury boasts a good mix of size and speed and are led in scoring by Buffalo Sabres prospectÃÂ Nick Baptiste who has 42 goals and 40 assists in 61 games.
Much of Sudbury's offense revolves around playmaking centremanÃÂ Mathew Campagna whose 54 assists this season rank fifth in the OHL. The Wolves also received a shot in the arm a few weeks ago whenÃÂ Brody Silk joined the club after recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
The Wolves have played to a 9-11-0-4 mark since trade deadline acquisitionsÃÂ Trevor Carrick andÃÂ Radek Faksa joined the club.
The Bulls try and get back on track against a Sudbury club that is 20-9-0-3 on home ice this season. One of those shootout losses came at the hands of Belleville on October 26th asÃÂ Brendan Gaunce scored the deciding goal in a 4-3 win for the Bulls.
The Bulls remain without injured defencemenÃÂ Jake Worrad,ÃÂ Justin Lemcke andÃÂ Brody MorrisÃÂ tonight. ForwardÃÂ Jake Bricknell is day to day with a lower body injury.
The puck drops at 7:30pm from the Sudbury Community Arena. Play-by-play can be heard on AM 800 CJBQ with Bulls voice Jack Miller. For full game coverage, follow along with the Bulls' Twitter feed (@OHLBulls).
